猫魔ヶ岳 (Nekoma-ga-take)
- Landform
- This is the rim of a caldera. Nekoma-ga-take is what stayed standing when the Oguninuma crater dropped, half a million years ago, and the runs fall off that rim on both sides, south and north. That is why one mountain has two ski areas.
- Rock
- Andesite lava and pyroclastic rock on the rim, middle Pleistocene. Below it the ground is the collapse itself, spread out and settled. It is now the gentlest skiing on the hill.
