Snow Report
Snow Report →Average peak depth and the month it arrives, over every recorded season.
Typical base at the deepest half-month.
MeasuredClear skies
This resort was added after the sky fit was last cut, so JapowDB cannot yet say how many clear days a winter here holds.
The forecast strip on the snow report is unaffected. It still answers what the sky will do over the next three days.
How a winter day is classified
Winter runs from December 1 to March 31. A day counts as Clear when modelled cloud cover is 30% or less, Partly Cloudy from 31 to 79%, and Overcast from 80% up. A day with 5 cm or more of snowfall counts as Snow, whatever the cloud cover.
The classification describes cloud over the resort’s weather cell, but nobody measures visibility on the hill. A cell that reads clear can still leave the upper mountain in cloud all day.

“steeps or off-piece zones, the outer resorts have trails like Yakabe and Jumbo Courses that might entice the more adventurous. There are also a few kids snow park zones across the resort, but no designated terrain parks or features. >> A few things to be aware of. Massive snowfalls can impact the roads and access up to and between the various Shikogan resorts. This can also constrain you to the resort you are based at. The higher elevation and northerly aspect of the Terracoya and Yokatiama areas provides improved snow conditions, while the flat runout on the lower slopes of Yakiyama can be”
