The mountain
稗田山 (Mt. Hieda)
- Landform
- The same mountain as Hakuba Cortina next door, Mt. Hieda, ridden from a little further round its eastern side. The resort takes its name from Hakuba Norikura-dake, which is a different and much larger mountain further south. The lifts here do not reach it. Its ski lifts stop about 160 m below the 1,443 m summit.
- Rock
- High up the rock is early Pleistocene volcanic rock, and lower down it is valley terrace, changing over at about the same height as at the resort next door, which sits on the same hillside.
